You receive error Connect-VIServer : Could not connect using the requested protocol when you want to use the object Connect-VIServer in POWERSHELL.
Solution :
If you use a proxy server Verify your exclusion “Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with” in Internet Explorer settings
