Microsoft.NET Framework error CS0016 message after intallation of WSUS
Compiler Error Message: CS0016 Could not write to output file c:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\wsusadmin\78d58f56\64305bda\ldreytb9.dll -- Could not executeCVTRES.EXE.
CAUSE
You see this error if you have previously run IISLockdown on this machine.
You see this error if the Netwok service have no access to the .NET directory.
RESOLUTION
- Check the permissions to the directory “C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322”
- ASP.NET Machine Account
Modify
- LOCAL SERVICE
Full Control
- NETWORK SERVICE
Full Control
- SYSTEM
Full Control
- Open Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS)
- Backup the configuration
- Change the WSUS Application Pool Identity to “LOCAL SYSTEM”
- Restart the « IIS Service »
- Restart « Update Service »
- Open the WSUSAdmin web site
